Historic Court Ruling

The Supreme Court today made a court ruling on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. The question at hand revolved around a DC ban on firearms. The Court ruled in a very close decision that the right to keep and bear arms is not a collective right but an individual right for all citizens. Declaring the ban on firearms unconstitutional the Court set a precedence for future Court decisions and laws all across the nation in favor of gun rights! This is an historic moment and should be celebrated by Constitutionalists everywhere!

A random post about what I am thinking about

I recently purchased a book named By this standard: The Authority of God's Law Today written by Greg Bahnsen. So far I have read through the first chapter and I can say that so far I have been very impressed with the quality and clarity of this book on the topic. I have written past articles on this topic and I can say that Mr. Bahnsen has done a very brilliant job at addressing this very delicate topic. So far I can say I highly suggest all Christians to read this book to stimulate their understanding of where and how God's law plays a part in modern government and in the Christian's life.

A copy of the book can be purchased from American Vision here.

A True Hero

A while back I wrote a post about a WWII veteran who I had met and befriended at my job working for Capitol Police in Virginia. I found out today that this war hero and my friend had died on Monday of this week. I attended his visitation this afternoon and I am posting his obituary in his honor.

Robert H. Deaderick

Robert Hardin Deaderick, respected and revered by countless friends and professional colleagues, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at 90 years of age.

Born July 31, 1917, in Sanford, N.C., he grew up on Fauquier Street in Fredericksburg and attended Fredericksburg High School before graduating from Virginia Military Institute in 1940, taking a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

In January, 1942, shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he married his lovely wife, Jane Argenbright, of Harrisonburg, and entered the U.S. Army as an artillery officer.

Before completing service to his country in 1945, he served as a forward observer in Gen. George Patton's 7th Armored spearheading its combat advance across Europe. There, he was instrumental in liberating numerous occupied venues. He received the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart, and was recommended for the Silver Star for gallantry in action.

Mr. Deaderick and his family settled in Richmond, where he became a consulting structural engineer and president of Deaderick & Gorley Engineers. He was responsible for many projects in Fredericksburg, including conversion of the old Shannon Farm to the Sheraton Hotel; addition to Fredericksburg Baptist Church in the 1960s; renovation of Gari Melcher's Home and Studio at Belmont in the 1970s; structural components of the Executive Office Building on Caroline Street, Fredericksburg's tallest building; and underpinning of the old National Bank building and tunnel. Later, he operated a home-inspection business.

He is survived by his wife, four children and seven grandchildren.

Courtship

I normally do not put personal information out on my blog. But in this case I am going to make an exception for your benefit. I am in the midst of a courtship with a young lady named Allison. Here is our picture taken at church yesterday.

You will hear anything worth while that I learn through this later. Any negative comments about this courtship can be directed to the White House email address. If you have positive comments please leave them in the comment section.

My last post.

My last post was an old article from the 2004 presidential elections. The man running at that time was Michael Peroutka. This years candidate is Chuck Baldwin. Now to answer the question of one of my readers. Being a part of the Constitution Party does not make you a good candidate. Nor does being a member of the democratic party make you a bad candidate. What makes you good or bad is your beliefs about God, the constitution, and the duties of the President and how they are to be carried out. The Constitution Party has consistently put forth strong candidates who know what their proper role is and how to execute it. The reason I posted an article that was four years old was because the principles mentioned in that article do not change. And the same things said about Peroutka are true about their current candidate. Vote for the man not the party. This year the best man is with the Constitution Party.

The Definition of Insanity

by Mary Starrett
Commentator and Talk Radio Host

Copied from: http://www.constitutionparty.com/news.php?aid=65

...is repeating the same behavior and expecting different results. We must be certifiable because that's what we did in 2000 and it appears that's what we'll be doing again in 2004.

Republicans have controlled both the executive and legislative branches of government for most of Bush's last four years. That's the first time the Grand Old Party's been in charge to that degree for almost 50 years. You'd think that would be a slam-dunk for our side. No such luck. In the last four years we've watched as First Amendment, Second Amendment and Fourth Amendment guarantees have slowly been eroded.

We wanted to make sure the carnage of abortion stopped - so we voted for a Republican. The killing continues.

We longed for a president who'd stand up for our God-given Second Amendment rights. Instead we got a president who has systematically made keeping and bearing arms more difficult.

We voted for a Republican because we wanted a reigning-in of federal spending. We now have the most bloated federal budget in the history of the Republic. No longer the party of fiscal discipline, the R's have become de facto pig farmers with all the pork projects they've funded. That used to be something we pinned on the D's.

We voted for a Republican because we wanted better schools for our children. Instead we got the most intrusive federal program to date in a scheme called "No Child Left (Alone) Behind".

Yes, the GOP had a wonderful opportunity to get us back on track. They blew it.

President Bush's patently un-Constitutional Medicare prescription entitlement debacle is one program even the Democrats would have had a hard time getting away with. To make matters worse, YOU, my friend are paying, with your hard-earned tax dollars, over $12.5 million for 30 second TV commercials "explaining" the "benefit" to older Americans. This is nothing but a shameless election year ploy to get you to think the president, in all his altruism has you covered on the medicine front. By the by, just WHERE in the Constitution does it say the federal government has the authority to take your money and then redistribute it to pay for drugs that, more often than not, make people sicker than they were before they started taking them?

During the last administration when the government was divided we saw less damage done to the country in terms of liberties lost. Hard to believe we can say that of what went on during the Clinton administration.

Today on CNN president Bush spoke of "bringing democracy and freedom" to the people of Iraq. I found that odd. When Bush had the opportunity to promote "democracy and freedom" for the free-Chinese in Taiwan he sided with the brutal regime in Beijing and told the Taiwanese to stand down in their efforts at free elections. The regime he defended at the expense of the tiny island was the same one that threatened to lob missiles at Los Angeles a few years back and the same one that first held a US military jet hostage, then dismantled it looking for spy secrets.

Nice going, GW.

It may be stating the obvious, but we had more checks on this out of control animal our government has become when the R's were the opposition party. By the way, for those who think you have no choice come November, remember the definition of insanity once again. If you repeat the same behavior (voting for Bush) you'll continue to get what you've gotten: Government from the Gulag whereby Patriot Acts and Homeland Security agencies strip us of liberty in a most disquieting way.

A recent poll on WorldNetDaily.com asked readers if they'd vote for Judge Roy Moore should he run as a third party candidate against Bush. What is there to talk about? A man who would give up prominence and defy a federal court for Christian principle (which is what this Republic was founded on) would be a de-luxe president in my mind.

My guess is the judge won't run- not to send a message to Bush- or for any other reason. That's why I'm voting for the Constitution Party candidate instead of Bush.

The moral imperative says I can not cast a vote for a de facto pro-abortion, anti-gun globalist when a man of sound principle like Michael Peroutka is running.(www.peroutka2004.com) I agree with him on every issue. I had a chance to interview Mr. Peroutka on a radio show I did yesterday and I was mightily encouraged. Not because I think he'll win. He won't. Not as long as Americans continue to believe they're " wasting" their votes by voting for someone who represents them.

You "wasted' your vote the last time, when you voted for Bush. Don't waste it again. Remember, if we continue to repeat the same behavior expecting different results, then we are truly insane.

And the lesser of two evils is still…evil.

Is the lesser of evils really good?

I have been talking with a lot of people about the upcoming presidential election. The overwhelming majority of people do not really like any of the candidates. But because the race is so "close" and "vitally important" we have to settle for the lesser of two evils. (Or in this case the lesser of three evils since no one can seem to pick between Hillary and Barack.)

What I cannot understand is why people feel compelled to choose one of three people they really don't like when there are other people running independent or with third parties that are much more qualified and intelligent. Will people continue to choose the lesser of two evils when the two majors parties have degraded to the point that one offers a declared socialist and the other a proud communist? We are nearer to that point now then I think we are willing to notice.

People need to recognize that the lesser of the evils is still evil in some manner. If you select the lesser of the evils, that will take us down the path of destruction as fast if not faster than deliberately supporting evil instead of the truth. Look at our nation now. We didn't get where we are in lack of morals in our lives, music, movies, etc, by openly supporting evil. Satan doesn't look at us and say, "This is sin!" He always gets us to compromise. This is what we are doing in our political arena. The only thing that will help America is to stop being a part of the status quo and vote for what is right even if it is not popular or likely to succeed. At least then when America is in a deplorable condition you will be able to say that it isn't your fault. Because I assure you that voting for the lesser of two evils will only slow down our inevitable destruction.

The Clarion Call

I was driving home from work today and I was thinking about the pitiful immoral state of society. The entire conversation of my co-workers all day centered around immorality or unethical behavior. And these are America’s finest - police officers. Driving home thinking about how society has degraded, I drove through a bad part of the city. Seeing what appeared to be a prostitute walking down the street my attention was drawn. Driving past her I saw a group of contractors who had stopped their labor and stared at her as she walked away to look, jest, and no doubt make verbal their filthy thoughts.

It was here that it struck me that this is the clarion call to the Church of Christ. The morals of our society is in a deplorable state. The lower class to the upper class is saturated with lust and greed or are being eaten away with bitterness, anger, and depression. There is no standard set for what is right and wrong but what the true Church of Christ lives and preaches. But how can we do this if we live silent and closed lives. As the Bible says, “How can the people hear if there is not a preacher.” How can we set an example to this dying world if we live like them. Drink alcohol like they do. Listen to Rock and Roll like they do. Talk dirty like they do. Don’t stand up for the truth when no one else will, even if it means damage to our “career”.

What does God think of us when we partake or even just stay quite when we should say something. We are it. We are the only representatives/ ambassadors of Christ in this world. If we do not stand up for truth, no one will. Their immorality is our clarion call. Don’t ignore it!

Science of Deduction Part 2

Observation

One of the most important things to do is to not to see but to both see and observe. Sherlock Holmes once asked Watson in the Scandal in Bohemia how many steps there were leading from the ground floor to their room upstairs. Though he walked them hundreds of times Watson said that he did not know their number. Sherlock Holmes provided the correct answer and made that statement. “You see but do not observe. I see and observe.”
Observation is more than seeing. I could see someone walk into the room. I will observe to a certain degree as well. I will make an assumption as to their gender and age. But outside of those observations the average person stops his analysis. Why is this? It is because we have not trained ourselves to be able to use other information that is equally as obvious to tell us about the person.
Observation alone is not enough you may observe something without deducing from it. For example, in the Scandal of Bohemia Sherlock Holmes observes several lacerations on the side sole of Watson’s shoe and deduces that Watson has recently been out in the foul weather and has a sloppy and careless maid. Now, seeing would just show us Watson wearing shoes. Observing would show us the cuts in the side of his shoes. Deduction would tell us he has been in bad weather and that he has a careless maid. This is the process the famous detective used.
During this process and especially when using this process in a criminal investigation there are certain rules which must be followed. Yes the above process is simple. So is driving a car. But just as there are rules for safe driving so you do not ere, there are rules governing seeing, observation, and deduction so that you do not ere in your conclusion.

Do Not Try to Deduce Without Proper Facts

This works hand in hand with the next rule. If one tries to understand the truth without all the proper facts your mind will have to fill in the blanks and will lead to improper conclusions.

Do Not Guess
It should be emphasized that guessing will skew your ability to see objectively. By guessing one brings conclusions into the equation that could not have been brought in with mere observation. Violation of this rule happens most often when you neglect following the first rule. But it must be noted that this can also happen once you gather all the facts. It is natural to man to surmise events without truly knowing if the facts allow for such a theory. These two rules are the easiest to break and should be carefully followed.

Merciful Judgment- A Good Idea or Impossible

I apologize for the length of time it has taken me to post. Our internet has been out and has only started working last night late.

It has been some time since I have thought about this topic in a specific way. I suppose I live my point of view on this topic daily, but I haven’t discussed it as an ideal for some time. I have had many a debate on this topic and have offended many people by my point of view. But, it is very important for the Christian to have a proper understanding of this topic so that they will be able to be judged in good conscience and judge others in good conscience.
I will not go into an argument regarding whether or not we have the authority to judge. It is clear in the Scriptures that we are to judge those in the church (1 Corinthians 5:12). This is generally understood by the relatively mature Christian. What is not so readily understood is how we are to judge them.
What brought this topic to my attention was reading a letter that stated in so many words that it was wrong to “Judge without mercy”. This once again brought the topic to my mind and spurred me to write a dissertation on this largely misunderstood topic.

As the title of my post says, there is a possibility that there is no such thing as merciful judgment. This is true. There is no such thing as merciful judgment. There should be no such thing as fair judgment. There is righteous judgment. There is equitable judgment. There is mercy instead of judgment. But you will never see something called merciful judgment in the Bible. This is a fictitious idea that a majority of Christians believe because they are to soft or to liberal to want true righteous judgment. Well I assure you that if you believe that you are pleasing God by giving merciful judgment you are wrong. This is an abomination to God. We will see this in due time.
Now that I have said this, let us look at the facts in the Word of God.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was debating this topic with a lady once, and when I mentioned that the Biblical mandate was equitable judgment she looked at me and said, “The Bible never says Equity in relation to judgment. Where are you getting this?” I found this amusing as ALL the Bible references is equitable judgment and never merciful judgment.
If you look up the words “mercy” and “judgment” appearing in the same verse all through the Bible you will find many verses. All of them separating judgment and mercy as two separate entities. If you look up “equity” and “judgment” the same way you will see God links the two as inseparable. One follows the other and if you don’t have one you can’t rightly have the other.
Why is this?
We must look to the definitions of these words to understand this. Mercy is a term that means to refrain from passing judgment. It is not a partner to judgment it is the opposite of judgment. When the slave in the parable fell down before the king and pled for mercy he was requesting the king to forbear judgment. He was not asking for a kind judgment. You either pardon someone or you punish someone. Saying someone is guilty and then giving an improper punishment is a sin. Proverbs 24:24 says “He who says to the wicked, ‘You are righteous,’ peoples will curse him, nations will abhor him; but to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight and a good blessing will come upon them.”
To give an improper judgment is a sin. But to show mercy and no judgment when we have the jurisdiction to, is a very Christian practice.
The term judgment means to execute right on someone who is acting wrong. Equity means to dispense correctly. So to have equitable judgment is to have righteous judgment. It is giving to the person what they deserve, no more and no less.
In common law England there was a court of law and a separate court of equity. This brought about rash and ungodly rulings because God had always designed the two to be together. When our founding fathers wrote the Constitution they made one superior court, one that judges both Law and Equity- the United States Supreme Court.
For a Christian to say that we are to only have mercy and gentleness do not understand what it is to imitate the true nature of God. God is judging us daily. He is going to send many people to hell. He is the same God in the New Testament as He was in the Old Testament. Judgment is required in the Church.
To try and make merciful judgment is an oxymoron. It is impossible and is evil. God is a righteous God. He abhors evil. Christians who do not like the thoughts that we are still obliged to follow the Law of God do not like the fact that there is right and wrong. We don’t determine that, God does. He is the decider of right and wrong. He establishes the principle of judgment in the Church. If we try to use our own standard we are sinning against God.
So, don’t forget that we have a responsibility to judge. So prepare yourself for that responsibility.

The Science of Deduction Part 1 (Introduction)

“Its somewhat ambitious title was ‘The Book of Life,’ and it attempted to show how much an observant man might learn by an accurate and systematic examination of all that came in his way. It struck me as being a remarkable mixture of shrewdness and of absurdity. The reasoning was close and intense, but the deductions appeared to me to be far fetched and exaggerated. The writer claimed by a momentary expression, a twitch of a muscle or a glance of an eye, to fathom a man’s inmost thoughts. Deceit, according to him, was an impossibility in the case of one trained to observation and analysis. His conclusions were as infallible as so many propositions of Euclid. So startling would his results appear to the uninitiated that until they learned the processes by which he had arrived at them they might well consider him as a necromancer.‘From a drop of water,’ said the writer, ‘a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara without having seen or heard of one or the other. So all life is a great chain, the nature of which is known whenever we are shown a single link of it. Like all other arts, the Science of Deduction and Analysis is one which can only be acquired by long and patient study, nor is life long enough to allow any mortal to attain the highest possible perfection in it. Before turning to those moral and mental aspects of the matter which present the greatest difficulties, let the inquirer begin by mastering more elementary problems. Let him, on meeting a fellow-mortal, learn at a glance to distinguish the history of the man, and the trade or profession to which he belongs. Puerile as such an exercise may seem, it sharpens the faculties of observation, and teaches one where to look and what to look for. By a man’s finger-nails, by his coat-sleeve, by his boots, by his trouser-knees, by the callosities of his forefinger and thumb, by his expression, by his shirt-cuffs–by each of these things a man’s calling is plainly revealed. That all united should fail to enlighten the competent inquirer in any case is almost inconceivable.’”
This is the method of observation and deduction made famous by the London detective Sherlock Holmes. His name is probably as familiar as even Biblical names. His fame has been spread abroad by the writings of A. Conan Doyle. Though the man Sherlock Holmes is apparently fiction the principles of observation and deduction are not. It is said that A. Conan Doyle made the man Sherlock Holmes from the inspiration of a Doctor that he knew who could perform Sherlock Holmes’ methods of observation and deduction in the medical world. The fact that observation and deduction are real and not fiction should be obvious. Now the extent to which the tools given to us by God can be used to fight crime or solve medical mysteries depends on the abilities of the man to adapt these methods to the modern world.
It is my belief that the incredible powers which Sherlock Holmes used to fight the criminal element in the late 1800’s England can be adapted and used today for the same or different purposes.

An Examination of Rock and Roll

I have been asked to do a longer dissertation on the topic of music and how it can be ungodly even if the words are not evil. So I have determined to begin this topic. I apologize for the length of time it has taken me to post again. I have been busy and a lot has been on my mind. Do not think that it is because I am dodging the issue. It is nothing of the sort. I believe one should never say something or believe something unless he is able to argue for and defend it against all assaults.
This is going to not please some people. It also will probably not be seen as correct by many people. And it will also probably anger many people. And when it does just think that you may just be proving my point of the dangers of music. Because if you are angered over something that I am attacking and it is not something that the Bible defends than it is probably going to be an idle in your life. So just remember that anything that we put above God is going to be an idle.

The effects of music on the generations is something that is not to be discarded. The fact alone that music effects culture or culture effects music is not something alone to determine whether or not it is good or evil. But the fact remains that music has a tremendous impact on the culture and individuals around us. This we will look at along with the other aspects of music .
Music is one item that though appears to be totally inert can in fact control not only physical reactions but also spiritual abilities to be in communion with God.
Music is music. There is no difference between secular and Christian rock music. Rock and Roll was invented by pagans for pagans. Christian’s have copied this beat in the Christian Contemporary Music Movement. Christian Rock is non-existent. The words have no bearing upon the fact that Rock and Roll is evil. Yes there is Rock and Roll with bad words. There is Rock and Roll with good words. There is Rock and Roll with nonsensical words. Is it the words alone that determine the fact of whether Rock is evil? No it is the beat and the beat alone. Obviously if the words are bad you don’t even have to look at the beat. But if the words are good how will you determine if the song is bad. To look at the beginnings of Rock and Roll is the only way to see where it comes from and why it was made. Also we can see the effects it has had on both the secular and Christian cultures of the previous generations.

1960s and 1970s
These were the decades that Rock and Roll became a factor in society. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Eagles, Byrd’s, Elvis, Zombies, Jackson Five, and the Monkeys, etc. These groups defined a culture. They created Woodstock. They created the riots, looting, immorality, and chaos that defined the 1960’s and 70’s. If you asked someone who lived through that time, who is not looking at it in a philosophical view, how it was to live in that time they will probably tell you in short that it was the best of

times and it was the worst of times. “We had the best music ever, and the worst riots ever. Hmm strange isn’t it?”
Most people don’t see a connection between the two but there is. All it takes is watching the video Beatles Shea Stadium that I have uploaded to see the strong physical and emotional reaction to music that would otherwise appear to be benign and definitely not immoral. Watch the video. Listen to the words. What is wrong with it? Is there a verse in the Bible to say that it

is wrong? No. So why the violent reactions? Why the riots and immorality? It can’t be the words. It can’t be the men (these reaction prevailed at any concert and even inside homes listening to records). So it must be the beat.
If you say that it is because there isn’t Christian words in the music and that brings the evil affect then you are wrong. “Look down upon Jesus, you got to help me take a stand, you got to see me through another day….I can’t make it any other way.” That was James Taylor. People killed themselves listening to his music. How about the Beatles. “I guess it is true pride comes before a fall…” They quoted Proverbs. How about the Byrd’s? Their entire song “Turn, Turn, Turn” is a direct quote from the book of Ecclesiastes. But yes people still had sexual relations, got drunk, and got high listening to it.
I will not go into to detail of the immorality that occurred at places like Woodstock. If you are ignorant to them and don’t believe me feel free to go out and investigate. But the fact is that an examination of the evidence and following the thought and evidence trail leads a direct link between the beat of Rock and Roll and the reactions of the people in society and their personal lives.
Seeing the below video I posted shows John Lennon chanting at the Shea Stadium concert. This is, I assure you, not a chant for the glory of God. Notice the words of this song. Not evil, just simple plain word.

Furthermore there is a scientific link between the back beat in Rock music and the realizing of hormones in the body. It is a fact that Rock music releases adrenaline and sexual enhancing hormones.
The Bible says that we are to make no provision for the flesh. As Christians we are to abstain from all forms and manner of evil. If the world created it and the world likes it than we as Christians have an obligation to not be a part of it.
The Rock and Roll movement has accelerated to the point that now the words match the content of the beat. Yes the beat was evil and now the words have changed and the beat has not. Yes as an illegal drug must be used in greater quantities for it to give the same euphoric effect the Rock beat has gotten more intense, but it is still the same. And it is causing even worse physical effects. As the following video shows.

So where are we today? Where has the Christian contemporary music movement gone? Here are two videos. The first is a live concert video of KISS a popular modern “secular rock” band. I don’t want you to fry your brain watching it all but just watch enough to get the feel of it. Then I would like you to watch the video after that, by DC Talk a popular Christian Rock band. Please do watch the second video all the way through. I can tell you Elvis would have been ashamed at the hip movement DC talk is doing in the second video.

I am not your conscience. I have no desire to be. But with what I have just told you, do you think God likes “Christian Rock and Roll?”

As I write this I am sitting inside the Virginia War Memorial. This is my job, I work for Capitol Police. As I was working here yesterday a 90 year old volunteer and I were the only ones in the building. He told me that he was a WWII veteran. Over the next couple of hours we talked about his experiences in the war. This is his story.
He was a lieutenant in the army. His mission: to detect Nazi artillery and radio the co ordinance to his men who had artillery behind American lines so that they could shell the Germans. He was in Paris going across a bordering river. The American Army came up to the shore and the core of engineers began building a bridge to bring the tanks and half tracks across. The Nazis who had artillery stationed in an unknown location on the other side of the river began shelling the American forces. The old gentleman leaned on the desk that I was sitting at as he talked. Here he stopped evidently moved at the memory of such a traumatic event. He looked at me and made a semblance of laughter as I could clearly see the pain of remembering such an event in his eyes. “It was bad” he said.
The shells burst around them. Some of the shells misfired¾ thanks to the French underground that had sabotaged the German’s ammo the previous night. If it wasn’t for that so many more of them would have died. Amidst the bombarding explosions the army corp. of engineers maintained the building of the bridge. They had to get through. The freedom of the world depended on them. They made it across and the Nazis moved their shelling onto the other side of the river still keeping it up hot and heavy. “Call it cowardice or whatever you want but I convinced another lieutenant in a half track to come with me out of the field.” the older gentlemen said looking pained as if regretting something that he hadn’t yet told me. They traveled until they found a young French boy that said he wanted to help. So after climbing to the top of a water tower and then being led to the top of a church tower without having spotted the German artillery he made a decision that has haunted him for the rest of his life.
He made a decision to take a dirt road further toward the enemy to locate the artillery. The French boy knew the danger of this and said that he had to go home. The old gentleman laughed hard. He said, “It was even funny then.”
He said that he began traveling further and further down that dirt road. He went further and still further until he said he got an eerie feeling. Deep in enemy territory he stopped signaling to the other lieutenant to stop he got out of his jeep and the other lieutenant from his half track and they walked to meet each other in the middle. Little did he know but he had stopped dead in the middle of a Nazi outpost. On both sides of the road were German machine gun nests. The Nazis were sitting there watching and waiting for them to meet in the middle of their vehicles so that they would be most vulnerable to machine gun fire. As soon as they met in the center of their convoy the Nazis opened fire. His driver, himself, and his fellow lieutenant fell to the ground shot. He said that the other lieutenant’s face just exploded. “I was shot in the a** and I knew I wasn’t going to die from that so I went to the lieutenant and tried to help him. I know how to tie a tourniquet on an arm or a leg but how do you tie off a wound like that.” His eyes filled with tears and his voice choked when he reached this part of the story. He pulled himself together as he told me that he left him and made his way back to the jeep for cover so he could return fire. The firefight lasted around 10 to 15 minutes when all of a sudden it stopped. The American army was rolling up the road in their direction.
The medic treated him first. “I knew for sure he was dead when they didn’t treat him first. But I found out later that he was alive and lasted a week in the hospital before he died.” His voice choked again. “I am not a war hero…I should never have gone away from the main army like that…I am not a hero.”
I was taken back by this comment. To think that a man like this who fought for the freedom we hold so dear should consider himself a coward and not a hero was saddening. I looked at him and told him “Sir, you are a hero in my eyes. You all are and always will be.” As he later walked towards the door to leave he turned to me and said, “I don’t have one to many friends and I am glad you are one of them.”

Sir it is my honor to have met you and considering you my friend is the greatest honor a man could have. My hat is off to all our veterans and we owe them all the thanks in the world for the freedom they have conserved and won for us. Never forget their sacrifice and always remember that freedom is not free.
“The tree of liberty must be regularly watered by the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Thomas Jefferson.

A true "Christian" girl...........what is that anyway?

It is fascinating to me to live in the day and age I am living in. America is in a very unique stage. The "Christian" church is anything but "Christian". Come to think of it, it is rare I ever see anybody that resembles a Christian. Now don't think that I consider myself a walking example of Christ-likeness, because I don't. At least I try though.

Considering the stage of life I am in, I am looking for a wife. OK. That should be easy. A wife. A girl. Female. Simple? Well there are a lot of females in the world today. In the "Christian" movement there are probably more girls than guys. That should make my search easy then. Right? Well not exactly. I have discovered that there are very few girls who even try to live according to the Proverbs 31 standard. Not saying I don't know a few who try. But what is sad is that I only know a few. Don't think me ungrateful. God has blessed me by giving me a fellowship of families who do really try to live Christian lives. But while looking at the mini-skirt, dyed haired, low cut shirt wearing, specimens of "Christian" femininity, I can only think how I really wouldn't want to be the next generation of Christian young men looking for a wife.

In the place of justice there is evil.

I was bringing the teaching at church yesterday. It was on Ecclesiastes chapters 3 and 4. In chapter 3 Solomon makes the statement that in the place of justice there is evil. This was a statement that I believe warrants a lot of thought. Contemplating the fact that things that seem righteous are actually evil is hard for some to really grasp. I mean what is wrong with a little TV or music? Well nothing seems to be wrong with it. But that should make us all the more aware of the fact that there could be something wrong.

A long standing philosophy of mine is that if there is a lot of people doing something then it is probably wrong. Why do I say that? Well because man as a whole is basically evil. (If anybody would like to debate me on this point please feel free to do so in the comment section. But please don't cry when I prove you wrong.) Because men are basically evil then it falls into reason that are desires will always be for evil. Only as Christians will Christ's desires be given to us. Therefore when we look at the music industry or television industry we have to ask ourselves if this is something that Christ would want us involved in.

Satan is out to kill, steal, and destroy. He would like nothing better than to see every single one of us burn in hell with him forever. Satan uses things like music, even contemporary "Christian"music to do damage to our spiritual state.

Not everything is at it appears and just remember that. Satan will almost always disguise evil as good to entrap you.

My new blog

I have had blogs in the past that focused on nothing but politics. This blog will be different. It will cover everything that I consider interesting enough to put on this blog. I will do my best to write enough material to keep you interested. So sit back and read about The Statesman.
