In the place of justice there is evil.

I was bringing the teaching at church yesterday. It was on Ecclesiastes chapters 3 and 4. In chapter 3 Solomon makes the statement that in the place of justice there is evil. This was a statement that I believe warrants a lot of thought. Contemplating the fact that things that seem righteous are actually evil is hard for some to really grasp. I mean what is wrong with a little TV or music? Well nothing seems to be wrong with it. But that should make us all the more aware of the fact that there could be something wrong.

A long standing philosophy of mine is that if there is a lot of people doing something then it is probably wrong. Why do I say that? Well because man as a whole is basically evil. (If anybody would like to debate me on this point please feel free to do so in the comment section. But please don't cry when I prove you wrong.) Because men are basically evil then it falls into reason that are desires will always be for evil. Only as Christians will Christ's desires be given to us. Therefore when we look at the music industry or television industry we have to ask ourselves if this is something that Christ would want us involved in.

Satan is out to kill, steal, and destroy. He would like nothing better than to see every single one of us burn in hell with him forever. Satan uses things like music, even contemporary "Christian"music to do damage to our spiritual state.

Not everything is at it appears and just remember that. Satan will almost always disguise evil as good to entrap you.

Hey Statesman!

I'm glad you decided to start your blog up again! Great title! We look forward to reading it.

Your teaching yesterday was great, and I think you explained this topic really well. It's amazing how some things you think are harmless...really are evil. *Twilight Zone music plays*

Where in the Bible does it say anything negative about music?
Shouldn't we derive these laws from the Bible?
What does "Sincere et constanter" mean?

There are many things that are not specifically mentioned in the Bible that are evil or wrong. We derive many moral laws from patterns and precepts that the Bible lays down for us.

Smoking isn't mentioned, nor is taking drugs mentioned as evil. Come to think of international terrorism isn't mentioned either. But how do we know these things are wrong? Because of principles that we apply to make up the entire Christian life.

sincere et constanter means "sincere and constant".

Where are the patterns and precepts that distinguish contemporary Christian music as being bad in the Bible?

Oh, and by the way, international terrorism falls under the classification of murder and smoking and doing drugs is destroying your body, which is the temple of God.

I will address a detailed answer to your question in my next post.

Patience is a virtue. I do have a life outside this blog and I do a very complete job when I write. Be patient and if you want to know the truth it will be posted here.
